- Security Statement
Last updated: 10 October 2026
Introduction
This statement describes the main ways hostavik protects your account and your information when you use our website and client area. How we collect and use personal information is covered in our Privacy Policy.
Encrypted Connections
Our website and client area use encrypted HTTPS connections, so the information you enter, such as your sign-in details and your orders, is protected while it travels between your browser and our site.
Your Account and Sign-In
- Account passwords are stored in hashed form. They cannot be read back, including by our staff.
- You can add a second sign-in step, a code from an authenticator app, under Security Settings in your account.
- Forms such as registration and contact use a verification check to block automated abuse.
- You can give other people their own access to your account instead of sharing your password, and remove that access at any time.
Payments
Payments are handled by the payment provider you choose at checkout. Where the provider hosts the payment page, you enter your payment details on the provider's site, not on ours.
What You Can Do
- Use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else.
- Turn on the second sign-in step in your account's Security Settings.
- Keep the software on your website, including its themes and plugins, up to date.
- Keep your own backups of your website and data.
- Be careful with emails that ask for your password or payment details. If you are unsure whether a message is from us, contact us through the website instead of replying.
Reporting a Security Problem
If you believe you have found a security weakness in our website or client area, please tell us. Our Vulnerability Disclosure Policy explains how.
If you think someone else has accessed your account, change your password and contact us through our Contact Us page or a support ticket.
Changes to This Statement
We update this statement when our security measures change. Changes are posted on this page with a new date.
